Summer course offering on Latino communities
Prof. Marcelo Cruz invites the campus community to participate in the summer session course, “Latio Communities in the United States.” Since the 1960s, the Latino communities residing in the United States have increased their proportion of the national population significantly, such that in the year 2000, the Latino communities became the largest ethnic minority group in the U.S. The course will survey the experiences of the Mexican, Caribbean, Central and South American communities in the United States. The four-week course will give an opportunity for students to explore the complex nature of the Latino experience in Green Bay within the historical experience of Latinos in this country.
