Governor appoints four newcomers to UW System board
The UW System Board of Regents will get four new members in May, pending Senate confirmation, under a series of appointments announced Friday. Governor Scott Walker has appointed José Delgado, Eve Hall, Anicka Purath and Nicholas Harsy to serve on the board. Delgado of Brookfield, is a Marquette University graduate and retired electrical engineer who was CEO of American Transmission Company. Hall, of New Berlin, has worked for Family Service of Milwaukee, Milwaukee Public Schools and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, Inc., and is currently president of the African American Chamber of Commerce. Purat, a Mount Pleasant native and sophomore at UW-La Crosse studying political science, will serve a one-year term as the traditional student representative. Appointed to the “non-traditional student” slot is UW-Madison’s Nicholas Harsy, a junior mechanical engineering major who spent five years in the U.S. Marine Corps, including two tours in Afghanistan.
