Go Green! Slideshow: Phoenix women at NCAA tourney
UW-Green Bay has solidified its rank among the nation’s most competitive women’s basketball programs.
The 2011-12 version of the Phoenix has already repeated last year’s success with another 30-win season and a national Top 10 ranking. Now, for the third straight year, Green Bay has won its opening-round game in the NCAA Tournament. The Phoenix defeated Iowa State 71-57 on March 17 for the right to play SEC regular-season champion Kentucky for a berth in the Sweet 16.
