Nice recognition for UW-Green Bay artist-in-residence, Peter Ulllian
Rising playwright Peter Ullian is in residence at UW-Green Bay, collaborating with Theatre students and faculty on a premiere production of his play, “The Collegiate Sisterhood of Lake Pawtuckaway,” written for the Forward Phoenix Play Project, to be performed in the University Theatre later this spring. Meanwhile, another Ullian play, “Waiting for Marcel,” is one of six commissioned plays that will be performed and streamed live as part of a unique international collaboration on Tuesday (March 10.) The project is called Book Wings South Africa, with sponsorship by the International Writer’s Workshop at the University of Iowa, the Artscape Theatre Centre, the University of Cape Town, the African Arts Institute, and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. State Department. Book Wings South Africa is said to bring together the worlds of literature, theatrical performance, and new media. High-definition videoconferencing technologies will allow the audience in Iowa City to see and hear performances held on the Cape Town stage, and the Cape Town audience to see and hear performances held on the Iowa City stage. The performance will be livestreamed.
