The UW-Green Bay Center for Public Affairs is kicking off a new series of “Policy Snapshot Reports” with a look at the hot-button issue of school vouchers. The report, now available online (www.uwgb.edu/cfpa), offers an objective assessment of the factors communities should consider when it comes to school choice. It presents an analysis of current voucher programs in Milwaukee and Racine, and considers the educational landscape of Green Bay — how students are performing, what private school opportunities are available, and how a School Choice program might impact the Green Bay School District. Associate Prof. Lora Warner, director of the Center for Public Affairs, worked with CFPA staff, senior honors student Ashley Skalecki and an interdisciplinary faculty advisory team to crunch the numbers and create the analysis. For more information about the report, link to our full press release. Also watch for Warner’s guest column, scheduled to run Thursday (March 7) in the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
