UW-Green Bay students to provide free income tax help

UW-Green Bay students will continue a longstanding tradition this tax season, providing free income tax preparation assistance for low-income individuals and families, the elderly and students. Thanks to the IRS’ Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, students will be available twice weekly to help navigate returns, beginning Feb. 4 and lasting through April 2. Help is available from 5-8 p.m. Tuesdays at the Brown County Central Library, 515 Pine St., Green Bay; and 5-8 p.m. Wednesdays at The Salvation Army, 626 Union Court, Green Bay. Appointments are required and can be made by calling (920) 465-2575. Taxpayers should bring several documents; see a complete list, and more information about the program.
