Common Theme 2009-10 has ‘Eco U’ ring

Building on work that will launch the new Environmental Management and Business Institute, Chancellor David Ward announced Wednesday that the Common Theme for 2009-10 will be “Realizing our Sustainable Future.” The theme was proposed by Profs. John Stoll and Kevin Fermanich, co-directors of EMBI. It will be the focus of activities and events throughout the next academic year, which will mark the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and UW-Green Bay’s opening on the Shorewood site. Noting in his mid-year convocation address that UWGB was once famously described as “Eco U,” Ward said “What better time for UW-Green Bay to rightfully lay claim to the title of ‘Eco U for the 21st Century?’”
