In the news: Big turnout for UW-Green Bay-sponsored MLK event
About 200 people turned out Saturday (Jan. 17) for the 20th annual Brown County Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration held at NWTC. As we told you here last week, UW-Green Bay plays a major organizational and sponsorship role in the annual event, with several faculty and staff members serving on the event planning committee and carrying out key roles during the celebration. Sue Mattison, dean of the College of Professional Studies, spoke during the event, sharing thoughts on Dr. King’s legacy before handing out poster and essay contest awards to students in grades kindergarten through three. Faculty and staff members Juliet Cole, Jolanda Sallmann, Justin Mallett, Gaurav Bansal, Mussie Teclezion, Tohoro Francis Akakpo and Kelly Moore serve on the MLK planning committee.
