No. 5 in the nation (computer ranking), but out of the Top 25

It was a short stay for the Phoenix in the Associated Press Top 25 poll, as the UW-Green Bay women’s basketball team dropped from its No. 24 position after a loss at Dayton last weekend. Credit strong performances against one of the nation’s toughest non-conference schedules, however, for keeping the Phoenix at No. 5 in the arguably more important NCAA computer rankings known as the RPI. As of Jan. 2, Coach Kevin Borseth’s 9-3 team trailed only UConn, Notre Dame, Dayton (!) and Kentucky in RPI strength. The Phoenix lost to both UConn and Dayton on the road, but handed No. 6 Arizona State its only loss.
