Staff member Burmaster races to help hungry

hungerUW-Green Bay staff member Lori Burmaster forgot which aisle of the Copps Food Center on Main Street features pancake mix. And as they say in the sports world, that was the ballgame. Except, it wasn’t. Burmaster was racing against WTAQ radio personality Mike Austin in the Race for the Hungry, a contest held Tuesday (Dec. 29) in area grocery stores, sponsored by North Shore Bank. Burmaster and Austin raced to fill a shopping list for the Trinity Lutheran Church food pantry. While Austin finished first (by a narrow margin of about $2), the real winners are area needy that will benefit from both contestants’ efforts. Together, the two grabbed more than $400 worth of food. The Log congratulates Austin and Burmaster, a custodian with Operations, for their efforts to help others.
