In the news: Gannett Wisconsin story examine faculty overloads

The latest installment in Gannett Wisconsin Media’s “What We Pay” series is out, examining UW System overload payments for 2013-14. Reporter Eric Litke spoke with Human Resources Director Sheryl Van Gruensven for the story, which noted that UW-Green Bay’s average overload payment per faculty member that year was the highest in the System — but still far less than the average overload per faculty member in the state technical college system. Overloads increased last year as faculty members were called upon to develop and teach new courses in various areas, Van Gruensven said. “I think it was helpful for us to deal with some of these recent changes we’ve been dealing with,” she said, “but we don’t expect to continue those types of situations in the future.” Full story.
