Alumnus makes a difference, the CBS Evening News

May 2011 graduate Daniel Schultz (human biology, nutritional sciences emphasis) was featured on the Thanksgiving CBS Evening News broadcast Nov. 24. The story highlighted his work in FoodCorps for the Des Moines, Iowa School District. FoodCorps (http://foodcorps.org) is a division of AmeriCorps, and was designed to improve the nutritional health of children throughout the United States. More than 1,230 individuals applied for this year’s FoodCorps, and only 50 were selected. Dan was also featured in Mark Bittman’s New York Times blog earlier this year.
