Meinert column: Full house, awesome artist at Weidner
The Green Bay Press-Gazette’s Kendra Meinert had ample praise for both artist and venue in a Thursday (Nov. 21) column that included this week’s Phillip Phillips concert at the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts. “How cool was it to see the Weidner Center sold out on Monday night for a rock concert?” Meinert writes. “Almost as cool as Phillip Phillips’ 90-minute performance, which didn’t have so much as a whiff that this was an ‘American Idol’ champ who somehow lucked into a win …. Just the opposite, in fact. Everything he and his five-piece band did on stage indicated this is an artist very much with his own vision and the goods to pull it off.” You can check out more of Meinert’s reflections by clicking the first link — the Phillips show is the second item referenced. And the second link has photographic proof of the show’s popularity — a packed and exuberant Weidner Center.
