Reported sexual assault rate detailed

According to an article in the Green Bay Press-Gazette, UW-Green Bay has the highest rate of reported sexual assaults in the UW System. The newspaper used data from the U.S. Department of Education. Susan Lockwood, director of the Sexual Assault Center of Family Services on Northeastern Wisconsin, says higher numbers don’t always indicate a problem. Rather, she says it may be an indicator that awareness programs are working. UW-Green Bay police chief Randy Christopherson told the newspaper that the numbers don’t mean more assaults are taking place, but that students feel more comfortable reporting them. Emotions about alleged assault mixed
