Trading hoops for paint buckets, the Phoenix women lend a hand
Members of the Phoenix women’s basketball team traded on-court buckets for paint buckets Monday (Oct. 1), volunteering at a new Disabled American Veterans facility in De Pere. The new digs needed a lot of work and funds were short, so volunteers — including the Phoenix women — stepped in, according to the story on WBAY, Channel 2. “Everyone, I think, has some sort of a connection to the armed forces, no matter what it (may) be,” said senior guard Adrian Ritchie. “I think it’s just very cool to give back in a way for people who are giving so much more to us.” Full story.
