Careful in digital age, prof says
So you’ve said something rude and inappropriate. Or you’ve done something that was embarrassing to yourself or others. What happens if it ends up on the internet because someone was recording it without your knowledge? Can the person behind the camera be held liable? Do you have any recourse? “I don’t think the courts have come to grips with whether somebody using a cell phone in a public place and recording video and posting it, whether that’s really going to be a legal violation,” Prof. Tim Meyer, Communication chair, told Fox 11. “In the digital age, nothing is safe beyond the confines of your own home” Susan Finco, president of Leonard and Finco Public Relations in Green Bay and a member of the Chancellor’s Council of Trustees, also shared thoughts on being smart in a digital age.
