Union ‘hydration station’ in the news
WBAY, Channel 2 on Friday (Sept. 16) featured the University Union’s “hydration station” in a story about steps some campuses have taken to ban the sale of plastic water bottles. The station, located in the University Union, offers students a free, simple way to save on the cost and waste that comes with purchasing plastic bottles, and even tracks an estimate of the number of bottles saved from landfills. There have been no plans or formal proposals to ban the sale of plastic bottles here, the story says, but officials and students say the hydration station offers a good option for reducing waste.
