Photos: a relatively quiet night on campus with healthcare rally
A full media contingent, a scattering of demonstrators, a few shouted comments and no major disruptions were reported in association with Wednesday night’s community healthcare rally held on campus. Public Safety and University Union personnel were well-prepared for any possible disruption, but the 90-minute event in the Phoenix Room came off relatively smoothly. The majority of the estimated 400 people in attendance were individuals and groups in support of Congressman Steve Kagen’s stated vision of healthcare reform. The University was not a sponsor but, rather, rented the meeting place to the event’s organizers. For a Green Bay Press-Gazette photo gallery, click here.
