Garden as teaching tool

The 1,200-square-foot garden outside the University Union is both a new teaching tool and a tribute to UW-Green Bay’s eco roots, its creator told the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “I wanted to use it as kind of a focal point … to raise awareness and educate students (about) the importance of local and sustainable food,” grad student Molly Collard said, “why that’s good for environmental reasons, along with community reasons and economic reasons, as well as supporting your local economy, keeping those food dollars local.” Read more.
