Former UW-Green Bay golfer George Kneiser makes PGA tour debut
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) -Former UW-Green Bay golfer George Kneiser is set to make history as the first GB golf alum to play on the PGA Tour. Kneiser attended UW-Green Bay from 2016-2020.
He qualified for the Wyndham Championship in North Carolina with a six-under 65, including a four-under 32 on the back nine.
The Oconomowoc native went into Monday’s event having missed the cut for the Cedar Rapids Open but responded with one of the best rounds of his life on Monday.
He will head to Sedgefield Country Club in North Carolina and compete against the likes of previous major winners, including Jordan Spieth, Brian Harman, and Keegan Bradley.
The Wyndham Championship is slated for August 8-11. Fans can watch his debut on Golf Channel, ESPN+, Peacock, and CBS.
