UW-Green Bay student gets $500 waitress tip, and thereby hangs a tale

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel carried an interesting feature story today about a man traveling all 50 states to leave surprise $500 tips for hard-working wait staff at humble eateries across the country. It’s a tribute to his recently departed brother, a man of modest means but great generosity. Anyway, the Wisconsin stop brought the big tipper in contact with waitress Marleigh Fiedler of Wauwatosa, who said she’d put the money to good use … for tuition at UW-Green Bay, where she studies political science. Terrific story.
