In the news: Wardle, Phoenix ready to move on

Phoenix men’s basketball Coach Brian Wardle on Monday (July 1) offered his first general media access since the conclusion of an investigation into alleged misconduct. Members of the local news media attended Monday’s practice at the Kress Events Center, and Wardle and Phoenix players gave interviews about the situation — and how they’re moving forward. “Continue to learn,” Wardle said of the process. “Continue to grow as a coach and a program, and that’s what we are doing right now.” Wardle had given select media interviews since it was announced in May he would keep his job (with some stipulations), but mostly had avoided public and media attention throughout the investigation and since.
