In the media: Union’s “green” water refill station continues to make a splash
The water refill station in the University Union got some nice ink in Tuesday’s (June 5) Press-Gazette, with Union Director Rick Warpinski discussing the unit’s popularity and environmental impact. The station was added about two years ago to encourage students and others to refill reusable water bottles, instead of buying the plastic disposable kind. During the 2011-12 school year, refills at the station totaled the equivalent of 40,000 eight-ounce bottles of water, Warpinski said. “It’s something both students and faculty really want,” he said. “It’s something that gets a lot of use.” Read more.
