100 reasons to celebrate Mrs. Hinton, Oneida dictionary project
We’re seeing national media play for the story of Tribal Elder Maria Hinton (UW-Green Bay Class of ’79) and the spoken-word version of the Oneida Language Dictionary she recently finished recording with UW-Green Bay Prof. Cliff Abbott. The project won them a Founders Award for Collaborative Achievement a year ago; it also won a spot on the Smithsonian Institution’s news page. (Incidentally, Mrs. Hinton turns 100 years old in June.)
