Phoenix MBB coach Sundance Wicks claims national honor

Wicks wins Joe B. Hall National Coach of the Year award for D1 first-year coaches

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Green Bay Phoenix coach Sundance Wicks is capping his first year by winning the Joe B. Hall National Coach of the Year award for best 1st-year head coach in Division 1 men’s basketball.

Wicks guided Green Bay to 18 wins, arriving after the team went just 3-29 the season before.

He beat out 16 other finalists for the award.
