P-G column: Bollant is up to the challenge
It’s time to give Phoenix women’s basketball coach Matt Bollant his due, Press-Gazette sports editor Mike Vandermause writes in his column. “Two years ago, he was handed the daunting task of replacing the legendary Kevin Borseth, who led the Phoenix to nine straight Horizon League regular-season titles and seven NCAA berths. It was a classic no-win situation for Bollant. If the Phoenix continued to succeed, it was because he inherited Borseth’s players and program. If the Phoenix regressed, it was his fault. While some coaches would wilt under that kind of suffocating pressure, Bollant proved he was up for the challenge.” Read more.
