Goin’ dancing: Phoenix women’s first step is in Iowa

The 30-1 Green Bay Phoenix women’s basketball team on Monday (March 12) drew a No. 7 seed for the NCAA tournament, earning the women a trip to Ames, Iowa to take on No. 10 Iowa State — on its home court — at 5:30 p.m. Saturday (March 17). Despite some team and fan disappointment at the seed, which was lower than last year’s No. 5, Coach Matt Bollant told the Green Bay Press-Gazette the Phoenix is focusing on controlling what it can. “We talk all the time in this program, control what you can control. There are certain variables in life you can’t control. We can’t control what seed they gave us.
