Alumnus, TaylorMade CEO King featured in Wall Street Journal

UW-Green Bay alumnus, trustee and last year’s Business Week keynoter Mark King ’81 is no stranger to national press. The TaylorMade-adidas CEO is a formidable businessman who leads a golf equipment company renowned for its popularity among weekend warriors and pros alike. He even appeared last year on an episode of CBS’ Undercover Boss, showing a different side of himself to employees and the viewing public. King’s latest media mention also is a biggie — in a Sunday (Feb. 10) Wall Street Journal story titled “How TaylorMade Made Its Move.” The story details the company’s secrets of success, including strategies that, in King’s words, are “pushing the envelope on every front.” TaylorMade has made an effort to get clubs into the hands of as many PGA Tour pros as possible, the story says, and to invest heavily in R&D — priorities of the UW-Green Bay Business Administration grad since he took the helm in 2000.
