Gerds previews Jazz Fest, on tap for Saturday

Local 5 Critic-at-Large Warren Gerds previewed Jazz Fest XLV in a Tuesday (Feb. 3) blog post, bringing readers information about this “distinctive musical tradition” that will take place Saturday (Feb. 7) on campus. As we’ve told you here before, this year’s Jazz Fest culminating concert will feature drummer Carl Allen, a Milwaukee native and UW-Green Bay alumnus, as well as a special group of UW-Green Bay all-star jazz alumni and the University’s Jazz Ensemble. Jazz Fest founder Lovell Ives will direct the all-stars.
