Shows by UW-Green Bay performers make critic’s ‘Best of 2010’ list
Green Bay Press-Gazette critic Warren Gerds sees dozens of shows, (actually, closer to a hundred or more) every year. In his list of notable music and theatre productions from the local stage during 2010, he gold-starred two performances involving UW-Green Bay performers. The first was Almost, Maine, the college theatre production that earned a bid to next weekend’s regional festival at Michigan State. The second was the “Football Fever” concert Nov. 12 at the Meyer Theatre. That show involved the Civic Symphony of Green Bay and guest appearances by the UW-Green Bay Wind Symphony under the direction of Prof. Kevin Collins and the Tundra Alumni Band, a jazzy big band with numerous alumni players directed by Prof. John Salerno. (A portion of the proceeds was directed to the Alummi Music Scholarship fund.) See the article.
