Prof. Sherman earns OPID grant on teaching Middle Eastern content

Congratulations to historian Heidi Sherman, assistant professor of Humanistic Studies. Sherman has been awarded a $1,000 conference-development grant for spring semester 2011 from the UW System Office of Professional and Instructional Development. Her project is titled “Globalizing the Classroom: Developing Best Practices for Teaching Middle Eastern Content.”

The OPID grant program promotes cooperation and exchange among UW System faculty and instructional staff, focusing on effective and innovative teaching to enhance student learning. The grants come with an expectation that recipients will share best practices through workshop and conference presentations.
