Goff leads college media workshops
Victoria Goff, associate professor, Communication and history, led two workshops at the 88th annual National College Media Convention, Oct. 28 to Nov. 1, in Austin, Texas. Her first workshop “What You Don’t Know About Convergence May Hurt You,” discussed convergence journalism and helped journalism students realize the importance of learning how to write across platforms in today’s changing media environment. “Freelancing 101,” the other workshop, taught students and faculty advisers from around the country how to market newspaper and magazine feature articles; to write effective query letters; to run a writing business; and to prosper even during hard economic times.
