Food Day followup: Great turnout for Allen, and a Phoenix publication
In our next issue, we’ll share a gallery of coverage of this week’s Food Day and the campus visit of urban-garden apostle Will Allen. In a related bit of news, Prof. Laurel E. Phoenix of Public and Environmental Affairs, the co-director of the Center for Food in Community and Culture at UW-Green Bay, has just published an article with Eric Fitch of Marietta College in the November edition of the journal Water Resources Impact. The title of the piece is “Water and Food.” The journal addresses the fact that, from food security for the inhabitants of the Mekong River watershed to the impacts of drought on food production in the Midwest, regions worldwide are focused on the relationship between water and food and the implications for feeding the world.
