Rector and Hong in Korea, China this week

Michael Rector and Sylvia Hong, assistant professor and associate lecturer in Music, are in Busan, Korea today to play a two-piano recital at the Far East Broadcasting Company’s Concert Hall. On their trip to Asia thus far, Sylvia played Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Busan Symphony to a packed house of over 1,500 people (with 300 in lawn chairs outside the concert hall watching the simultaneous broadcast). Michael has presented master classes to piano students in Beijing (China Conservatory and Yoha Piano Art Center) and Busan (Peniel School for the Arts). They travel to Seoul Friday for the last leg of their trip.
