Faculty note: Lowery honor
Historian Vince Lowery, an assistant professor of Humanistic Studies, has received the R.D.W. Connor Award for outstanding article in the North Carolina Historical Review published by the Historical Society of North Carolina. He earned the honor for “The Transatlantic Dreams of the Port City Prophet: The Rural Reform Campaign of Hugh MacRae.” The award is named for Robert Digges Wimberly Connor, the first secretary of the North Carolina Historical Commission and the first archivist of the United States.
