Prof. Michael Holly’s publication used in climate news story

Previously published work by UW-Green Bay Prof. Michael Holly was used in an article by Inside Climate News. Prof. Holly was also interviewed as a reference for the article.

Anaerobic digestion of dairy manure successfully reduces greenhouse gas emissions; however, the mineralization of nitrogen that occurs during digestion results in increased ammonia emissions. Digesters in CA are now getting increased attention for a lack of consideration for ammonia emissions from digested manure. Future research is needed to investigate strategies to reduce or capture ammonia from digested manure. The article references research completed by Prof. Holly and colleagues at UW-Madison.
