Prof. Gurung now President-Elect Gurung, of national association

UW-Green Bay’s Regan A. R. Gurung, professor of Human Development and psychology, is now also a winner of a national election. Gurung says he learned recently of his status as president-elect of the Society for the Teaching of Psychology. STP, a division of the American Psychological Association, has more than 4,000 members nationwide and promotes excellence in the teaching and learning of psychology. The Society provides resources and services, access to a collaborative community and partnerships across academic settings, and opportunities for professional development with emphasis on the scholarship of teaching and learning. The Society is described as the oldest and largest organization dedicated to the improvement and recognition of the teaching of psychology at the high school, community college, college and university levels. Gurung begins his duties as president-elect Jan. 1, 2010, and will become president in 2011.
