Faculty note: Kersten’s book listed among NYT summer reads

Prof. Andy Kersten’s book, “Clarence Darrow: American Iconoclast” got a nod in The New York Times Sunday Book Review this week, listed among the good reads in “paperback row.” Kersten, Democracy and Justice Studies, focuses on Darrow’s idealism, the review says. Darrow, according to Kersten, “was dedicated to smashing the structures and systems of social control that impinged on the liberties and freedoms of average people.”
