Nursing Prof. Block accepts position at Northern Illinois

Congratulations (and a sorry to see you go) are in order for Nursing Prof. Derryl Block, who on Thursday (May 10) was named the dean of the College of Health and Human Services at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Block has been with the University since 2001, serving as chair of the Professional Program in Nursing since 2009. She also served as interim dean of the College of Professional and Graduate Studies from 2009 until last year. Block is expected to broaden her new university’s online course offerings while forging partnerships with professionals in the local community, according to an Associated Press story. Read more.
