Poitras resigns as men’s soccer coach

Tom Poitras last week resigned as the head men’s soccer coach at UW-Green Bay to accept the same position at the University of Hartford. In doing so, he is returning to his home state of Connecticut and taking over a program that had national visibility with numerous NCAA tournament appearances during the 1990s but has not quite regained that level. Poitras had a 72-46-18 record in seven seasons at the helm of the Phoenix, and guided the team to the NCAA Tournament in 2009. This past season, Green Bay went 13-4-2 overall and 6-2-0 in the Horizon League. AD Ken Bothof says a national search to replace Poitras has already begun. Read more.
