Faculty/staff notes: Goff, Rosewall
Prof. Victoria Goff, Communication, attended the Joint Journalism Historians Conference in New York, where she presented a refereed paper—“Reverse Cultural Imperialism: The Role of Cuba, Venezuela, Spain, and Mexico in Making Miami the Center of Spanish-Language Magazine Publishing.” The History Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication and the American Journalism Historians Association sponsored the conference on the weekend of March 13.
Prof. Ellen Rosewall, Arts Management, will speak to the Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE) conference in Philadelphia later this week. Her topic is “Creativity, Arts Education and the 21st Century.” Rosewall, a member of the regional team for the Wisconsin Task Force on Arts and Creativity in Education, will report on the Wisconsin efforts to prepare students for what Barack Obama calls “21st century skills” like creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation.
