A poem by Humanistic Studies Prof. Chuck Rybak’s with the intriguing title “Must Everyone Write a Poem Subtitled After Dean Young (After Dean Young)” is now available in the current print issue of Verse Wisconsin. Nichole Rued, a UW-Green Bay student and creative writer, had her poem “Ambidextrous” accepted to Verse Wisconsin’s special online section of “Wisconsin Protest Poems.” They have since notified Rued that they will be publishing her poem in a broadside edition, where it will share the page with a poem by former UW-Green Bay Prof. Denise Sweet. Rued’s poem deals with the Madison protests and state politics, and appears in an online collection of angry protest-related verse.
