In the news: VandenAvond comments on higher ed, new demand, options
Associate Provost for Outreach and Adult Access Steve VandenAvond helped the Green Bay Press-Gazette analyze census figures that show an increase in educational attainment in our region, providing context for a front-page story that ran Saturday (Feb. 16). VandenAvond spoke about the changing need for higher education, as well as greater availability of options for those seeking degrees. Whereas once a high school diploma was enough to land a good job, things are changing, he said. “UW-Green Bay has made considerable effort to give access to all,” VandenAvond said. “Adult courses, online courses, online degrees — students really have more access now, especially adults.” Full story.
