Faculty note: Weisnschenk research on local campaign spending

The London School of Economics’ Public Policy Group has again invited Political Scientist Aaron Weinschenk, a new assistant professor of Public and Environmental Affairs at UW-Green Bay, to write an article for their multi-disciplinary American Politics and Policy blog. Weinschenk’s new article on the blog addresses the topic of campaign spending in local elections. Drawing on some of his recently published research in the journal State and Local Government Review, Weinschenk looks at why levels of campaign vary across cities in the United States. He also talks about the implications of campaign spending for voter turnout in local elections. Click here.
