HUS resumes Great Books series in January

The Humanistic Studies academic unit at UW-Green Bay is resuming its campus-and-community Great Books literary discussion series in January. For each book, a Humanistic Studies faculty member will make a presentation and lead discussion, free and open to the general public, at the Brown County Central Library. Sessions are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. Topics and presenters are:

• Jan. 13 — Goethe’s Faust, presented by Prof. David Coury, German
• Feb. 10 — Shakepeare’s The Tempest, Prof. Catherine Henze, English
• March 10 — Leo Tolstoy’s A Prisoner in the Caucasus, Prof. Kevin Kain, History
• April 14 — Hanan Al-Shayk’s Women of Sand and Myrrh, Prof. Heidi Sherman, History
• May 12 — John Steinbeck The Grapes of Wrath, presented by Sigma Tau Delta, English Honor Society
