Grosso to kick off ‘After Thoughts’ season with talk on making music
Music Prof. Cheryl Grosso will headline UW-Green Bay’s first After Thoughts program of the academic year, presenting “Inspiration, Influence and Interpretation: The Musical Experience of Composer and Performer” Tuesday evening, Oct. 1 in the Weidner Center Grand Foyer. During her presentation, the award-winning UW-Green Bay faculty member and 1978 alumna will discuss two very different genres of composition — hand drumming and classical music. She’ll talk about the composers who have influenced her and other factors that shape her creative voice, giving audiences insight into her compositional process and what it’s like to hear her work performed by others. The event will begin at 5 p.m. with an hors d’oeuvres reception, followed by the 6 p.m. program. For more details and ticket info, check out our news release.
