Fall freshmen receive official welcome at series of FOCUS registration events
UW-Green Bay is issuing a warm welcome to this fall’s freshman class with a series of FOCUS R & R — Registration & Resources — summer sessions.
The daylong programs are designed to assist students with logistics including fall class registration and acquiring their University ID card. In addition, students and parents alike get better acquainted with campus, meeting faculty, staff and students who are able to answer questions and help them feel at home.
Parents and students spend part of the day together in large-group sessions that include information on academic expectations and the basics of campus life. They split for lunch and afternoon sessions, which include tech talk — a primer on campus technology — advising and officially registering for their first-ever University courses. Other activities include a campus resource fair and optional campus tours.
FOCUS — First-year Opportunities and Connections for UW-Green Bay Students — is UW-Green Bay’s signature program designed to help new students achieve academic success, meet new people and develop friendships. The 2011 FOCUS R & R days are being held June 7-10, 13 and 14. Welcome, freshmen!
