Grandparents University goes big in 2014, with 15 courses


Grandparents and their grandchildren between the ages of 7 and 14 can share their love of learning at the two-day Grandparents’ University summer camp at UW-Green Bay Thursday and Friday, July 10 and 11. The dates and topics for the popular annual camp were announced earlier this week. Class selections and their instructors include an all-star lineup of mostly UW-Green Bay instructors:
• (Full) Animals on the Wild Side, In Nature and the Museum — Instructor: Thomas Erdman, Curator, Richter Museum of Natural History; Cofrin Center for Biodiversity
• (Full) Nutritional Science — Instructor: Debra Pearson, associate professor, Human Biology (Nutritional Science/Dietetics and general), Nutritional Biochemistry
• Memory-Making Clay Designs — Instructor: Dean Hoegger, artist/teacher
You’re the Artist: Learn How to Draw Cartoon Characters! — Instructor: Addie Sorbo, senior lecturer, artist, teacher
Artist Books: Visual Journeys — Instructor: Chris Style, professor, Art and Design
4-Hand Piano — Instructor: Abigail Mace, lecturer, Music, Piano
Letterboxing — Instructor: Illene Cupit, professor, Human Development
Geology — Instructor: John Luczaj, associate professor, Natural and Applied Sciences
