Webster U scholar visits for Wednesday ‘War/Peace’ lecture
Dr. Linda Woolf, a nationally regarded scholar on peace studies, is visiting campus to present on the topic “Psychosocial Roots of Terrorism.” Her presentation takes place Wednesday (April 1) at 5:15 p.m. in the 1965 Room. The event, free and open to all, is organized by the Psychology and Human Development Club. It ties in with this year’s campuswide Common Theme of “Waging War, Waging Peace.” Woolf is a professor of psychology and international human rights at Webster University, in St. Louis. She is past president of the Society for the Study of Peace, Conflict, and Violence. Her research focuses on the psychosocial roots of mass violence, including the Holocaust, genocide, terrorism, and social justice issues such as torture and women’s global human rights.
