Reparations and Emancipation will be subject of March 24 lecture

The Spring 2010 Historical Perspective Lecture Series will feature a lecture on March 24 by John David Smith, author of Slavery, Race and American History. A professor of history at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, Smith will speak on “The Language of Reparations and the Meaning of Emancipation, 1865-1917.” The lecture will be at 2:15 p.m. in the Christie Theatre in the University Union. It’s free and open to all.
